Recently a study was released showing that using E-cigarettes can lead to various types of lung disease. After the study they found that using E-cigarettes caused a significant increase in neutrophils. Ultimately leading to an increased risk of lung diseases such as COPD and Cystic Fibrosis.
Harvard Health Publishing recently reported that many E-cigarettes contain a chemical known as Diacetyl. This drug has been shown to cause a rare lung disease in people that consume it regularly.
Vaping is just as addictive
A recent study has found that vaping is just as addictive as smoking cigarettes. People are merely swapping one bad habit for another and not addressing the main problem. As nicotine is still present in most vaping and e-cigarette methods it was not helping to quit smoking at all. Another alarming fact is that the ingredients listed and those actually present in e-cigarettes are highly inconsistant and include varying levels of nicotine.
It increases your risk of high blood pressure
However thinking that using alternatives is safer is not the case at all. After using e-cigarettes your risk of high blood pressure raises significantly. Unfortunately the difference between electronic and normal cigarettes on clogging your arteries is extremely minimal. In fact the effects can be seen in as little as 30 minutes after smoking either devices.
E-cigs still emit second hand smoke
In fact e-cigs and vaping are worse as the amount of smoke you blow out seems to much greater then normal cigarettes. Meanwhile everyone else in your vicinity now has to put up with even more smoke then before. However, a recent study found that there were fewer particles in the smoke but they could still become attached to the lungs of those around.
In conclusion taking up Vaping or using E-cigarettes is not a quick fix to stop smoking. In fact it could make things worse not only for you but for those around you. If you wish to stop smoking then the best option is to try and quick altogether and not look for a replacement.
